- Abstracts of 86 research grants are provided. The awards were made to small science-and technology-based firms for advanced research in the following areas of potential application: materials; bio-sources of materials; genetics; advanced manufacturing processes; advanced chemical processes; industrial biological processes; microelectronics; communications and systems; computer science and engineering; robotics and controls; scientific and industrial measurements; radiation processing and control; light machinery and components; advanced automotive research; food process engineering; marine resources; mineral resources; environmental technology; tunneling; earthquake engineering; science and technology to aid the handicapped; and appropriate technology. Potential commercial applications are suggested for each of the technologies.
