Abstract
The objective of the study was to conduct parallel compression tests of clay and concrete masonry prisms under essentially identical conditions, and to determine if the two materials may justifiably be considered identical for purposes of design. In addition, an effort was made to exercise careful control of laboratory practices as a step towards better standardization of laboratory procedures (The laboratory practices will be documented in separate reports).
