Abstract
The SAP90 computer analysis of the DPC gymnasium was conducted as part of the ongoing TCCMAR program. Its primary purpose was to demonstrate the feasibility of using an elastic analysis with SAP90 to quantify the inelastic behavior of masonry structures. The research is divided into two main parts. The first part deals with the development of the computer model including the modeling of the flexible diaphragm. It also includes a quantification of the parametric study that is needed to compute the cracked behavior of masonry walls. The second part of the research is a study of the seismic performance of the building to different earthquake records.
