Abstract
This manual presents simple procedures for seismic and wind hazards evaluation of reinforced concrete buildings in the Dominican Republic. The evaluation procedures primarily identify potential deficiencies in existing reinforced concrete buildings that pose risks to human life. Additional evaluation guidance is given for immediate occupancy of buildings after a seismic and windstorm event. This manual provides guidance to the evaluating engineer on determining if there are any weak links in the structure that could precipitate structural or component failure by making appropriate response to a series of checklists.
