- Abstract
- This report characterizes Element EL7, a general purpose element for reinforced concrete shearwalls under cyclic loading. The development of the element for use in the DRAIN-2D computer program for calculating the nonlinear response of multistory structures subject to earthquake motion is described, and the FORTRAN listing of the subroutines is included. Input data and sample computer output for a seven-story reinforced concrete frame-wall structure are presented to illustrate the data preparation procedure and output format for the shearwall element. The tangent stiffness matrix of the shearwall element is provided.
