- Abstract
- Part of a continuing investigation at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) on the seismic response of highway bridges. A new nonlinear biaxial bending element for reinforced concrete columns was developed. The element was implemented in a nonlinear static analysis program. Results using the five-spring element compared favorably with experimental results producing a better match than either the bilinear biaxial yield surface model or the trilinear degrading yield surface model.
